Shake it World
nov 23 kl. 21:00 – nov 24 kl. 2:00
Shake it World

Make it World have decided to give you the perfect opportunity to escape from the ramping Christmas mood and gloomy winter weather! This night we will dive into other dimensions and dream ourselves into colorful landscapes and paradisiac sceneries. And most of all, we will dance, dance to tunes brought to you from near and far, dance until the sweat drips down our spine and we forget how many layers we have to wear, later, when we will have to go elsewhere.

Make it World has gathered a unique crew of dedicated DJ’s, most of them playing strictly vynils, to heat your party this Thursday night:

Wallahoo:
Wallahoo is the guy you go to if you need to know what this funny instrument is, where you find the most authentic concert in town or what the name of the drummer of the indian band is. After relocating from outer space to Copenhagen, he has been passionately going to world music Concerts since Global was called Etnorama. His ears are as open as his mind and his musical enthusiasm is definetely as contagious as any kindergarden virus.

Disco Flottante:
Disco Flottante has spent half of his life in France before moving to Denmark. Floating in an ocean of music for several decades, his musical scope reaches far and wide in space and time. Disco Flottante will select some very danceable records, bringing rare and relatively unknown music from around the world, to the surface.

HelheleH
HelheleH recently moved to Denmark from London. With him he brought his eclectic collection of vinyl gems that he has carefully curated from around the world. He is the kind of DJing wizard that makes you surrender to the dance floor. Expect hot disco and funk rhythms with a twist.

More info to come very soon!!!

Musik under (Rå)Huset #4 Råhuset
nov 24 kl. 20:00 – 1:00
Musik under (Rå)Huset #4 @ Råhuset

Samtidig må man gerne drikke medbragt alkohol UDENFOR Råhusets lokaler.

★ Aftenens line-up ★

November.

TBA
Vi glæder os til at se jer!

Drum workshop Råhuset
nov 25 kl. 11:00 – nov 26 kl. 15:30
Drum workshop @ Råhuset
“Rhythm is a means of organizing sound into specific energy formulas to harmonize the mind and body. Chanting, rhythmic breathing and drumming from the ancient technology for directly synchronizing the mind/body complex, creating conditions for psychological and physical healing.” – Layne Redmond, Author of “When Drummers Were Women”

Through out history, people all over the world have been attracted to the rhythm and pulse of the drum, reflected in different cultures using it for healing, celebrating, uniting, ceremonial matters etc. Maybe it is the deep recognition that in each one of us, despite our nation, culture, religion or nation is beating the same rhythm and pulse of life – the heart.

In this drum workshop we will journey through the worlds many different rhythms, by visiting the samba-reggae grooves from Brazil, to konnakol from South-India and bougarabou grooves from Senegal and get to touch it with our own hands. We will listen to the storytelling of how the different rhythms came into being. We will learn and get to know the technical aspect of playing conga, djembe, cajon, udu, caxixi and a lot, lot more different instruments. Also we will touch upon the energetic aspect of drumming together by gathering around the Native American powwow drum, connecting in tribal mind, playing the one heartbeat. We will discover the art of grooving when listening and playing using our inner intuitive life-musician.

Come, as you are whether you are a drummer or not. Bring a drum, if you have one, whether you can drum it or not, or borrow one of the many drums we will bring to the workshop.
All you need in order to participate is your willingness to have fun, get inspired, learn something new, to get high on energy and incredible joyful with others.
The workshop will be held in easy English.

We offer a two days workshop – you can attend one day of your choice or both for a more full experience.

Saturday*:
• Worlds rhythms
• Technical aspects of the different instruments
• Get to know your own instrument better
• Storytelling
• Exploring and playing

Sunday*:

• Energetic aspect of drumming
• Intuitive drumming/percussion

*We are not rigid with the program, so see this as a guideline for the workshop days – it is important that we have time to deepening what we feel drawn to.

Your teachers for this workshop:
Gijs is Dutch musician on percussion and drums. For the last 25 years he has been touring, recording and teaching extensively throughout the world. His travels have provided him with a first hand knowledge of many music- instruments and grooves. He has performed at the major jazzfestivals in Europe and Asia, played on over a 100 recordings and has done in-depth study on percussionists in jazz, pop and improvised music. In 2014 the ground breaking percussion studybook ‘Concept for the New Percussionist, 4/4 & 12/8 was released, giving percussionist and drummers a whole new look on studying and how to use traditional rhythms into modern music. Gijs will be guiding us through the worlds rhythms and groove and learns us the technical aspect of drumming. Read more about Gijs here: www.gijsanders.com

Ditte lives in Copenhagen and works as a yoga teacher and mindfulness instructor. The energy force of the drum and the community feeling and connection when drumming together fascinates her. For the last 5 years she has been drumming, teaching and pointing the ceremonial powwow drum at a Native American ceremonial summer retreat, 10 days out in nature celebrating all of life with dancing, drumming, singing and community life. Ditte will be our host in the workshop and will be guiding the strong energy of connecting at the ceremonial powwow drum. Read more about Ditte here: www.yogaboflen.dk

How did we get here?
I met Gijs back in 2015 in an ashram in France, in the odd combination of a silent retreat and Gijs teaching a percussion workshop. We found a common passion in our different approch to the drum and in 2016 I invited Gijs to come and do a workshop in Copenhagen for the first time, with great success. Now we both feel it is time to gather in the heart of the drum and combine more of what we both are so fascinated about and we are exited to share it all with you.

You can always contact Ditte for more information
